Gulf South Placed Montz Compressor Station In-Service
On November 1, 2018, Gulf South made available and placed in-service the Montz Compressor Station. Below is a link to the in-service notification letter.

FERC Issues In-Service Approval
On October 31, 2018, the FERC issued Authorization to Commence Service for the Montz Compressor Station.

Gulf South Files In-Service Request
On October 9, 2018, Gulf South filed with the FERC its request to place in-service the Montz Compressor Station.

What’s New
  • Gulf South has successfully completed testing Line 270-94, which will serve both the Montz Compressor Station and Entergy’s Power Station.  No issues were identified. 
  • The Montz Compressor Station construction is on schedule with major deliveries, such as the Power Control Room Building and Compressor Units, expected in early June 2018

  

Meeting Update with Parish   

On May 29, 2018, Gulf South held a meeting with the St. Charles Parish Planning and Zoning Department, including a Parish council member, to provide details regarding completed project activities to date.

Notice of Start of Construction

Gulf South commenced construction activities on February 5, 2018. 

 

FERC Approves Notice to Proceed Construction   

On January 9, 2018, the FERC authorized Gulf South to commence construction activities of the St. Charles Parish Expansion Project.  

 

FERC Issues Certificate  

On October 6, 2017, the FERC issued the Certificate authorizing Gulf South to construct and operate the St. Charles Parish Expansion Project. Below is a link to view the Order Issuing Certificate.

Town Hall Meeting

On September 7, 2017 at 6:30pm, Entergy and Gulf South hosted a town hall meeting to discuss the St. Charles Parish Expansion Project at the Cypress Lakes Country Club located at 10 Villere Drive, Destrehan, Louisiana 70047. Below is a link to view the powerpoint presented at the meeting

Information Session

On June 14, 2017, at 5:00pm, Gulf South hosted a community information session for the St. Charles Parish Expansion Project at the Norco Civic Association Building to make Gulf South representatives available to the community in order to provide information about the Project. Parish Council Member Meeting

On May 24, 2017, Gulf South met with Parish Council Women Traci Fletcher and Wendy Benedetto. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce the project, discuss the zoning for the project and entertain any questions or concerns.

Parish President Meeting

On May 10, 2017, Gulf South met with Larry Cochran to introduce the project, discuss the zoning for the project and to entertain any questions or concerns.

 

Parish Planning and Zoning Meeting

On March 30, 2017, Gulf South met with Marny Stein to introduce the project, discuss the zoning for the project and entertain any questions or concerns. Gulf South was later informed that the entire project is solely located in St. Charles Parish, Louisiana.

 

Notice of Environmental Assessment

On March 3, 2017, the FERC issued the Environmental Assessment ("EA"), for the project. The EA is a comprehensive environmental evaluation of the project. The FERC provided a comment period for any person wishing to comment on the EA allowing individuals to comment on the potential environmental effects, reasonable alternatives, and measures to avoid or lessen environmental impacts. Comments were due to FERC on or before April 3, 2017. A copy of the EA can be obtained through the FERC's website, https://www.ferc.gov/docs-filing/elibrary.asp, using the "eLibrary" link and the project's docket number. Once at eLibrary, select "General Search" and enter the docket number assigned to the project which is CP16-478. Please note there is a data range field that needs to be updated to the date the EA was issued which is 03/03/2017. On December 30, 2016, the FERC issued a Notice of Schedule stating that it would be issuing the EA on March 3, 2017.

 

On August 24, 2016, the FERC issued a Notice of Intent to Prepare an EA. This notice announced the opening of the scoping process the FERC would use to gather input from the public and interested agencies on the Project. Comments were due to FERC on or before September 23, 2016.
