On October 30, 2018, FERC approves request to place the Magasco, North Houston, and Wilson Compressor Stations in-service.

On October 9, 2018, Gulf South filed with the FERC its Request for Authorization to Place In-Service the Magasco, North Houston, and Wilson Compressor Stations.

Brazos Compressor Station - Notice to Proceed

On June 1, 2018, Gulf South made available and placed in-service the Brazos Compressor Station.

  

On May 18, 2018, Gulf South filed a supplemental request to place the Brazos Compressor Station in-service.

Wilson and North Houston Compressor Stations

On May 18, 2018, the FERC issued approval of Gulf South's Extension of Time to construct the Wilson and North Houston Compressor Stations for the Coastal Bend Header Project.

On May 11, 2018, Gulf South filed a Request for Extension of Time to construct certain facilities for the Coastal Bend Header Project.  The request was for the three Solar Titan 130 turbines at the Wilson Compressor Station and North Houston Compressor Station.  These facilities are under construction and on schedule for in-service in fourth quarter 2018.

Transco Meter and Regulator Station

On April 2, 2018, Gulf South placed in-service and made available for nominations the Transco Meter and Regulator Station. Below is a link to the notification Letter.

North Houston Compressor Station  

Gulf South commenced construction activities for the North Houston Compressor Station on March 13, 2018.

FERC Approves Request to Place Certain Coastal Bend Header Project Facilities In-Service

On January 31, 2018, the FERC authorized Gulf South to place certain Coastal Bend Header Project Facilities in-service. Below is a link to the authorization letter.

FERC Order Amending Certificate

On May 24, 2017, the FERC issued an Order Amending Certificate granting Gulf South authorization to modify the Magasco Compressor Station.

Brazos Compressor Station - Notice to Proceed

On February 17, 2017, the FERC granted Gulf South’s request to commence construction of the Brazos Compressor Station and on March 20, 2017, Gulf South commenced tie-in work with full construction activities to commence in June 2017.

 

Coastal Bend Header Pipeline and Metering Facilities – Notice to Proceed

On December 20, 2016, The FERC granted Gulf South’s request to commence construction of the Coastal Bend Header Pipeline, Meter and Regulator (M&R) Stations (Tennessee Gas Pipeline LLC M&R, Natural Gas Pipeline Company LLC M&R, Houston Pipeline Company-Energy Transfer M&R and Stratton Ridge M&R), and the Goodrich Compressor Station. In January 2017, Gulf South commenced preparing the pipeline right-of-way for construction and in April 2017 commenced pipeline construction.

 

Wilson Compressor Station – Notice to Proceed

On November 10, 2016, the FERC granted Gulf South’s request to commence construction of the Wilson Compressor Station and on December 5, 2016, Gulf South commenced construction activities.

 

Stakeholder Outreach December 2016/January 2017

In anticipation of construction commencing, Gulf South, through Strategic Public Affairs®, a Government Relations firm, reached out to a specific group of city and county elected officials who are stakeholders on the Coastal Bend Header Project.  The purpose was to update them on the FERC project status update and the anticipated construction start date.  Outreach was conducted throughout the month of December 2016 and January 2017.

On June 20, 2016, the FERC issued a Certificate Order granting Gulf South authorization to construct and operate the Coastal Bend Header Project.   

 

Notice of Environmental Assessment

On November 9, 2015, the FERC issued a Notice of Schedule stating that it would be issuing the Environmental Assessment (“EA”).  On January 29, 2016, the FERC issued the EA, for the project.  The EA is a comprehensive environmental evaluation of the project.  The FERC provided a comment period for any person wishing to comment on the EA allowing individuals to comment on the potential environmental effects, reasonable alternatives, and measures to avoid or lessen environmental impacts. Comments were due to FERC on or before February 29, 2016. A copy of the EA can be obtained through the FERC’s website, https://www.ferc.gov/docs-filing/elibrary.asp, using the “eLibrary” link and the project’s docket number. Once at eLibrary, select “General Search” and enter the docket number assigned to the project which is CP15-517. Please note there is a date range field that needs to be updated to the date the EA was issued which is 01/29/2016. Holiday Postcards

On December 14, 2015, Gulf South mailed out holiday postcards to landowners and stakeholders for the Coastal Bend Header Project.  The purpose was to update them on the Environmental Assessment and the 30-day comment period as well as the anticipated construction start date. 

 

Community Outreach Open Houses

On January 20, 2015, January 22, 2015, and February 19, 2015 Gulf South Pipeline Company, LP hosted three community outreach open houses for the Coastal Bend Header Project, the first in Wharton, Texas, the second in Angleton, Texas, and the third in Spring, Texas.
