TRANSPORTATION SERVICES 

 

Firm Transportation Service (FTS)

This service consists of the receipt of gas provided by a Customer at a primary or supplemental receipt point for transportation, transportation through Gulf South’s system, and the delivery of gas by Gulf South to the Customer or for the Customer’s account at a primary or supplemental delivery point. Primary receipt and delivery points are established as part of the contracting process for FTS service. FTS service has a scheduling priority greater than ITS or PAL services.

 

Interruptible Transportation Service (ITS)

This service consists of the receipt of gas provided by a Customer at any receipt point on Gulf South’s system for transportation, transportation through Gulf South’s system, and the delivery of gas by Gulf South to the Customer or for the Customer’s account any delivery point on Gulf South’s system. ITS service is scheduled after higher priority services but before PAL service.

 

Parking and Lending Service (PAL)

This service is an interruptible service where Customers may either park or borrow gas. Parking service provides a Customer the ability to deliver gas onto Gulf South’s system for re-delivery at a future date. Lending Service provides the ability for a Customer to borrow gas from Gulf South and to payback the gas to Gulf South at a future date. PAL service is designed to assist Customers with their short term balancing needs. This service has the lowest scheduling priority of all transportation services.

STORAGE SERVICES 

 

Gulf South offers various storage services including Firm Storage Services (FSS) and Interruptible Storage Services (ISS) at market-based rates.  Transportation to and from the storage facility must be contracted for separately.

 

Gulf South has ten natural gas storage facilities. The two natural gas storage facilities located in Bistineau, Louisiana and Jackson, Mississippi, have approximately 83.5 Bcf of working gas storage capacity that Gulf South uses to offer firm and interruptible storage service, including NNS, and to support pipeline operations. Gulf South also owns and operates eight high-deliverability salt-dome natural gas storage caverns in Forrest County, Mississippi, having approximately 46.0 Bcf of total storage capacity, of which approximately 29.6 Bcf is working gas capacity and owns undeveloped land that is suitable for up to five additional storage caverns.
